Principles of Practice

Principles of practice

As a Holistic Integrated Creative Art Therapist, I offer services that work with you in becoming the best possible version of yourself that you can possibly be. It is my intention to offer you tools which promote you obtaining control over your own physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. I respect your ability to make decisions and engage in personal change and growth.

What you can expect

I shall have respect for your rights and dignity.

You have rights in respect of your privacy, confidentiality, self-determination, and autonomy, regardless of your gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, race, ethnicity or age.

The nature of all services offered will be explained in full before you decide to undertake any of them.

I shall not analyse or offer advice on how you live your life. Instead I will offer creative and expressive tools and therapies that put you in control of your journey.

Reasonable steps will be taken to preserve your confidentiality of information obtained in a session. Should I consider that either you or another person is at risk of harm, I reserve the right to contact necessary parties. Any notes kept throughout your session will be kept confidential and stored appropriately to ensure this. Information will only be revealed with your consent. Except in cases where either yourself or another person is at risk of harm or required by law.

Services provided will be within the limits of my education and training. Where I feel your therapy may step out of these limits, I will offer appropriate referral to others within or outside the profession if you wish.

You have the right to withdraw my services at any time you feel necessary.

If I am working with a minor, my sessions will involve the child only. Parents/guardians are not permitted to attend the meetings. This will ensure the best possible outcome for the child to be achieved.

Sessions will generally be for one hour. I will be mindful of sessions running within the allowed time frame. A double appointment may be requested at time of booking.

I reserve the right to terminate your session should I feel unsafe or am put at risk.

Payment for services must be paid for at the completion of every therapy session. These may be in cash or EFTPOS.

There will be a 50% fee for any session not cancelled within 24 hours of your appointment.
